Welcome to the Optical Precision Agriculture Layer (OPAL) platform. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the OPAL Progressive Web Application and its related services, which are owned and operated by Solutions for Environmental Services Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using OPAL, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you must immediately cease using the platform.
OPAL provides agricultural analytics based on satellite observations, including spectral index computations (Sentinel-2) and soil-moisture models (Sentinel-1), alongside meteorological forecasts (Open-Meteo). The service is designed to support farmers and agricultural consultants. While we strive for precision, satellite data interpretation is an advisory tool — ground verification remains the sole responsibility of the grower.
Access to OPAL is granted to registered, approved subscribers. New accounts are initially marked as
pending status. We reserve the right to approve, reject, block, or limit access to accounts at
our sole discretion. Accounts may be linked to subscriptions hosted on our parent website, Nimbus Earth.
We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as our universal baseline. Full detail on what we collect, why, and your rights over it is in our Privacy Policy.
Permanent deletion warning: under GDPR, you have the right to erase your account at any time. In-app deletion is immediate, irreversible, and permanent. All fields, calibrations, and satellite history will be erased from Firestore. We do not keep offline backup copies of your user data once deleted.
You agree not to use the platform to:
In no event shall Solutions for Environmental Services Ltd or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of crop yield, business interruption, or loss of profits) arising out of the use or inability to use the OPAL analytics, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising out of the services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.
